How to book a wedding celebrant in Greece.

It’s that time of year again! There are many couples making their plans for their destination wedding in Greece for 2023 and 2024 and beyond. So today I thought it would be a good idea to talk about how to book a wedding celebrant in Greece.

A civil ceremony in Greece.

Firstly you have to decide if you will submit all the official paperwork required to have a civil marriage in Greece. If so your civil ceremony will be officiated by the local registrar or their representative (sometimes calling themselves a celebrant which can be a little confusing!)

In the case of a civil ceremony, you will need to contact a professional wedding planner who can advise you of the type of venues available for such a ceremony and the process involved. They will be responsible for booking the officiant for your civil ceremony in Greece.

Unlimited venue choice, any time of day.

Now many couples are planning to do the legal part at home these days. They choose to have a celebrant led symbolic wedding ceremony in Greece. These couples have complete freedom to choose the venue of their dreams.  Whether it be a stunning villa or in the grounds of a beautiful local winery or at the water’s edge on a white sandy beach at sunset or even at sunrise!

Not only do you have an unlimited choice of venues but also you have a say in the type of ceremony that is written for you. A wedding celebrant in Greece is as the name suggests, a person that celebrates! So let’s talk about how to book a wedding celebrant in Greece.

How to book me as your wedding celebrant in Greece.

Step 1
  • Do your research, pick 2 or 3 celebrants that you like the look of online and then arrange a discovery chat with all of them. It will not be hard to make your choice once you have chatted with them personally. You will find the perfect person for your special day in Greece. A great resource is www.thecelebrantdirectory.com
Step 2
  • If I am chosen as your celebrant for your special day, then the next  step is to officially save your date with a 150 euro save the date fee.
Step 3
  • A few months before your wedding day, I will send you my questionnaires to fill out and send back to me. How you met, how you fell in love, who proposed and when, something you love about each other, something you don’t! All these are the types of questions to answer and I will base the story part of your ceremony on your answers.
Step 4
  • I will then write the ceremony and send you the first draft to make any updates necessary. Many couples like to have help with personal vows, and I am always happy to assist in any way I can!
Step 5
  • If it is possible, we arrange to have a quick meeting at some point before the ceremony to go through the order of ceremony. Whatever you choose we can have as many chats online throughout the process. I will be at your venue in plenty of time to ensure everything goes perfectly on the day.
