Wedding Celebrant Sarah Hatjipavlis

Just a few weeks ago, Mark and Elizabeth had their intimate sunset celebrant led beach wedding ceremony on the beautiful Island of Rhodes. Together with their children they travelled to Rhodes to exchange their romantic vows and their Rhodes micro wedding was planned and organised by Rhodes Wedding Services https://www.rhodesweddingservices.com/

A celebrant led beach wedding in Greece

I was so excited to be their celebrant, during this summer, when so many destination wedding plans have had to be rescheduled, Mark and Elizabeth were a ‘ray of hope’ for all of the team on the beautiful Island of Rhodes. The venue was a stunning sandy beach located, in the area of Kallithea, on the East coast of Rhodes.

Planning the ceremony

I met Mark and Elizabeth ‘virtually’ before they flew to Rhodes to discuss their feelings about their ceremony. The ceremony was all about love and family. As a wedding celebrant in Greece, I am so privileged to learn so many love stories. That is why I simply love my job, and it never feels like work, it is a vocation, nothing more and nothing less.

The Rhodes Wedding Services Team

The Rhodes Wedding Services team https://www.rhodesweddingservices.com/ organised a beautiful set up in a quiet area of the beach. A simple table, with the traditional Greek white tablecloth, a touch of pink, hearts and painted pebbles with romantic lanterns topped with classic florals. Jill, who is a talented venue decorator, out did herself once more. Just as everything was coming in to place a massive gust of wind, yes, all the Greek Islands do have Meltemi winds, literally blew the whole set up down the beach!

The team set to work once more, and just like magic, the winds died down, minutes before the ceremony was about to begin. Spiros was there with his trusty camera to capture the event, so that Mark and Elizabeth and their family would have a record of their special day. The timing was perfect, the sun was starting to set as the couple said their vows, it was so romantic, so memorable and so incredibly beautiful.

The ceremony

As the bride walked down the natural aisle on the beach, she looked radiant and beautiful, walking towards her handsome groom.

Mark and Elizabeth’s story was a fairy tale come true! The day Elizabeth met Mark for the very first time was the day her ‘knight in shining armour’ showed up on his trusty ‘steed’, the day fate intervened, the moment true love was born. We included a family parchment signing, to symbolise the birth of a new family and all the children took part. I must mention that baby Rosie was an angel throughout the ceremony, she sat there smiling, taking everything in. She really is a beautiful baby!

After the ceremony Mark and Elizabeth had a sunset photoshoot at the water’s edge and then went to a local restaurant to celebrate with their family.

It really was an intimate beach wedding to remember on the wonderful Island of Rhodes.
