Rhodes Wedding

The beautiful Island of Rhodes is located in the Dodecanese and is known as the Island of the sun as it is blessed with more that 300 days of sunshine a year. This is the main reason why couples choose the Island of Rhodes for their wedding in Greece.  The summer season runs from April to the end of October with the high season months of July and August the hottest and most popular of all.

Here are 6 top reasons why you should choose the Island of Rhodes for your wedding in Greece.

     1. Location

  • The Island of Rhodes is easily accessible from the UK and Europe with direct flights throughout the summer season. For those travelling from further afield then you will fly in to Athens and then take one of the many daily domestic flights to Rhodes.

      2. The Old City

  • The Island of Rhodes is the site of the medieval city of Rhodes.  A UNESCO World Heritage site https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/493/. Wander around the labyrinth of cobbled streets, take a step back in time, visit the Grand Masters Palace and the Street of the Knights. Take a walk off the beaten track and enjoy family style eateries, luxury dining, designer shops, and so many other traditional nooks and crannies. Take a wander around the dry moat, which runs two thirds of the way around the Old City. Walk the city walls. If only they could talk, what stories they would have to tell.

      3. Child friendly

  • Perfect for kids. The Island of Rhodes has plenty of options for families. A walk through the valley of the butterflies/petaloudes, combined with a visit to Farma of Rhodes to see the ostriches and other wildlife would make a great day out. The Island of Rhodes has water parks, a variety water sports, boat trips and off road jeep safaris. You will find great entertainment for all kids big and small.

  • There are so many amazing beaches on the Island of Rhodes. Windy ones for kite surfing, sandy ones for sun worshippers, shingle options for others. What they all have in common are the beautiful  one of a kind, blue waters of Rhodes.

If you are NOT in to having a generic civil ceremony then you should consider talking to a wedding celebrant.  As a wedding celebrant living on the Island of Rhodes I write and perform *symbolic weddings, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, and wedding blessings anywhere in Greece.

*A symbolic ceremony is not legally binding. Most couples choose to legalise their marriage in their own country freeing them up for a special celebrant led ceremony in Greece.
